Writing a poem is like
 dropping a rose petal
down the Grand Canyon
and waiting for the echo.

Our two week jaunt began with a few days in Connecticut at the home of my brother-in-law. We took the chance to play tourist, visiting the Hill-stead House in Farmington CT (west of Hartford), the Yale Art Gallery, and FDR's home in Hyde Park on the Hudson. Then we took the train into the city and made our way to East 12th Street. A high-light of the week: the circle tour of Manhattan hosted by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and of course our two days at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the greatest (and largest) museum collections in the world. A bit like coming home, visiting old friends.
